On March 8, 2018 CAWEE Signed Grant Document with the Embassy of Japan, where the project will focus on the provision of technical skills trainings for 40 rural women through the provision of modern bee-keeping equipment in Kella Gebisa Kebele, Limmu Kossa Wereda, Jimma Zone, Oromia National Regional State. The funding secured form the Government of Japan, sixty-one thousand and four hundred thirty US Dollars (USD 61,430), also included the purchase of two grinding mills and construction of a shed.
The targeted rural women in this project are expected to produce “Coffee Honey”, where those targeted women for this project are living close to a coffee farm, thus expected to produce coffee honey.
Having the facility of the grinding mills close to the vicinity where the women are living will definitely reduce the workload, thus allowing them to get more time to be involved in income generating activities.
